Donna-Marie works to promote equity and justice so that historically marginalized populations are healthy and have the power and resources they need to self-govern and excel. As a licensed clinical psychologist, she focuses on the development of cultural and gender-relevant strategies that support the wellness and assets of emerging-majority children, youth, and families. She has decades of experience researching and implementing complex, multisite initiatives. In 2011, Donna-Marie founded Kaleidoscope Pathways, a strategic-thinking, research, and evaluation firm that works with philanthropic and nonprofit organizations nationwide. She holds a position as Senior Research Associate at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise (UNC-CH). Donna-Marie has served as an advisor to numerous local and national organizations and has presented all across the United States and in Ghana, Portugal, France, Italy, England, and Canada. She has authored over 20 research articles and developed several games for youth and young adults. For fun, she writes children's books, learns from elders, and watches sunrises and sunsets from planes. Her lifelong passion for issues of racial equity, cultural competence, and deeply connected human relationships are borne of her experiences as a Black female who is a native of New Orleans and a long-time resident of North Carolina.
