Francesca Menes, is the Founder and Chief Community Engager of CommUnity Strategies, LLC. A company rooted in grassroots advocacy, which is committed to empowering individuals, groups and communities to embrace and effectively express the power of their voice and vote. She is also the Florida State Coordinator for Local Progress, a national network of progressive local elected officials. For over a decade, Francesca has led the development and implementation of strategic legislative, policy and voter engagement campaigns locally and statewide. Her work led to the passage of resolutions and ordinances in several counties throughout the state and passage of bills signed into law in Tallahassee which benefited immigrants, New Americans, youth and communities of color.Francesca is a co-founder and Board Chair of The Black Collective and serves on the Miami-Dade County Community Action Agency Executive Board, the Miami-Dade County N.W. 79th Street Corridor Community Redevelopment Agency in addition to a number of organizational boards. Francesca graduated from Florida International University, earning her BA in Political Science and Women's Studies with a minor in Philosophy and a certificate in National Security Studies and her Master's in Public Administration, with a certificate in Community Development. Francesca is a first generation Haitian-Dominican-American and was raised in Miami's Little Haiti community. Francesca has appeared on and has been quoted in many national and Florida-based media outlets and publications, HLN, CNN en Español, USA Today, Politico, New York Times, Miami New Times, Miami Herald, PolitiFact Florida.
